Rocket Blender

Rocket Blender

Looking for a new versatile appliance? Check out the Rocket Blender. It is basically a small blender that has two different blades – one for blending, chopping and mixing and one for grinding and whipping. It is great for making everything from fruit smoothies to a batch of salsa.

Simply fill the cup with your ingredients, screw on the lid with the blade and place it on top of the motor base and press it down to pulse. It can grind coffee and spices, puree salsas and sauces and whip up milkshakes and smoothies. I tried out the blending/chopping/mixing blade to make a delicious smoothie. It was super easy to use and there wasn’t a big mess to clean up after. It comes with four serving cups so you can serve up all of your delicious creations to family and friends.

Now that your taste buds are watering from all of the creations you are thinking of making, check out the Rocket Blender today!

Fancy a pair of lightweight shoes?

Fancy a pair of lightweight shoes?

Have you heard about the revolutionary Nike Flyknit technology? If you haven’t then you are bound to hear about it very soon. Nike has spent the last four years designing and engineering lightweight, knit upper material that fits the foot like a sock but still has the dynamic structure needed for a supportive fit.

Nike talked to many athletes who said that they wanted a shoe that was like a sock so they employed new proprietary technology to create a revolutionary shoe. You will be seeing many of the elite runners wearing these shoes in the coming months. It is engineered to perfection and will create a feeling of a second skin.

The Nike Flyknit Racer’s upper and tounge weigh just 34 grams. The whole shoe weights a mere 160g which is 19% lighter than the Nike Zoom Streak 3. They have also created an everyday running shoe, the Nike FLYKNIT Trainer+. This shoe is 220grams and brings the benefits to runners of all levels.

It is set to launch in Nike store from August 27th so keep an eye out for it.

Office Furniture Buying Guide

Office Furniture Buying Guide

Choosing furniture for an office is more than just decorations. It is important to find furniture that has a professional vibe for outsiders coming into the office as well as providing comfort for those in the office. Good office furniture should be ergonomic, save on space and help to maximise the productivity of the employees.

Know the size of your office: Before you start buying furniture for your office make sure that you know the dimensions of your office. Knowing the measurements helps you to decide what size of tables, seats etc to purchase. Also consider the space to move around the furniture as well so it’s comfortable for walking around the office. You don’t want to regret buying the wrong furniture that doesn’t maximise the space available.

Ergonomic Furniture: It is so important to consider ergonomics when purchasing furniture. With employees spending many hours in a week sitting in the office, the chances of injuries have increased. Repetitive strain, joint swelling and muscle strain are some of the injuries that can be caused. All of these injuries can affect the employee productivity. Make sure that you try to buy ergonomic furniture and while it may be more expensive it will be worth it in the long run.

Colour: You want an office that is full of energy. Buying office furniture in dull colours will results in a dull atmosphere. Invest in bright colours that match your business brand.

Desk: One of the most important features of an office is a desk. You should think about what you will use the desks for e.g you may need a large desk for things like printing, reading and sketching. Estimating your needs should give you a fair idea about the ideal size of a desk within the available space.

Seating: Chairs are also very important and there are a wide range of ergonomic models to ensure comfort and correct posture while working. You are able to control your sitting position with most chairs these days to ensure that you are comfortable and to minimise body stress.

Storage: Storage in any office is central to work and relative to convenience and productivity. A storage cabinet close to your desk always helps with saving time.

A business cannot function without hardworking dedicated employees so it is important to invest in the right furniture.

Feel like some Kiwifruit juice?

Feel like some Kiwifruit juice?

Nothing beats a delicious fresh healthy juice. While visiting The Food Show a few weekends ago, I stumbled across Elliotts King of Kiwi. They are a healthy range of kiwifruit based drinks with no preservatives or added sugar.

Glen Elliot started the company in 2009 after a hot summer’s day where he had an urge for a tasty but healthy kiwifruit beverage. It is made using the world’s finest processing techniques that retain as much of the fruits beneficial components as possible. The kiwifruits are selected from local growers on a year by year basis to ensure that they are top quality.

One kiwifruit has almost twice the vitamin C of an orange and more potassium than a banana. It also contains high levels of vitamin E, dietary fibre, lutein and rutin. There are three delicious flavours to choose from- Green Kiwi, Gold Kiwi and Feijoa. My personal favourite is the Gold Kiwi as I find it slightly sweeter to satisfy my sugar cravings.

Elliots Natural kiwifruit blend is a completely natural drink and trust me you may just get addicted.

Home Gym Buying Guide

Home Gym Buying Guide

Whether you want to lose weight or tone your body, buying a home gym can help you reach your fitness goals. Gyms are getting more crowded and many people are looking to move away from commercial gyms to setting p a place to exercise in their own homes. There are so many options out there for equipment that it can be difficult to know where to start.

Purpose: You need to decide on what your own goals are and what you want in your gym. If you aim is to get bigger and stronger then it would be best for you to invest in some free weights. If your goal is more weight loss orientated then you might like to get some cardio machines and some lighter free weights.

Space: This is a very important aspect to consider. If you are setting it up in a room or garage then your space is most probably limited. Look out for items that are small or can be folded up into a small package.

Price: When you are thinking about the cost of the home gym take into consideration what a gym membership would cost. Avoid expensive items and try to find second hand items.

Selecting the right equipment: With a home gym area worked out, your purpose and the price you want to spend, now comes the fun part – selecting the equipment. Don’t make the common mistake of getting carried away and trying to cram in as much as possible. Home gym systems can use free weights, weight-based machines or band resistance machines. Each type of machine comes with its own benefits and drawbacks. Band resistance machines are easy to use, adjustable and versatile. Weight-based machines allow you to work out without a spotter, but take up a lot of space. Free weights will give you more versatility to change up your workout every time. Cardio machines are also important. Think about what type of cardio you enjoy. If you get a treadmill then you can walk/run on it rather than just one movement. A bike can also be great if you want to sit and watch tv while you are doing your cardio. Think about all the different aspects and what you enjoy and you will find the perfect equipment for you.

Home gyms are great as they are time efficient and are likely to reduce your expenses in the long run. Healthy fit living everyone!

Arts and Crafts

Arts and Crafts

Grab your scissors and glue and get ready for some arts and crafts. Arts and Crafts are lots of fun for the whole family and especially great in winter when you can’t get outdoors. Give your kids the ideas and materials, and then let them explore and experiment on their own. These are some fun craft ideas for you all!

Do Not Disturb’ Signs: Every child wants to feel a bit like an adult and have their room to themselves. This sign is a great way to do that. Get a piece of card, put a hole in it and put some string through the hole so that it can hang on the door handle. Let your child decorate it and add their own words, or advise them of what it can be. They could even make several signs for different circumstances.

Junk Jewellery: Jewellery Making is undoubtedly popular with young girls but even some boys might like to make surfie styled bracelets. You can make some great jewellery using everyday items from around the home. You can get some string and thread buttons, shells, dried or plastic flowers and feathers.

Egg decorating: Break the egg in half and wash out the eggshells and leave them to dry. Once dry brush glue along the cracked edge of the egg and then glue them together. Leave them in the egg carton to dry. Then it’s the fun part. You can decorate the eggs however you like with paint, paper, glitter etc.

Check out Warehouse Stationery for their extensive range of arts and crafts supplies. You will be amazed at what your children can make and will make them feel proud when you display their artwork on the fridge or somewhere similar.
